Inseting stem back into 7750 - how to do it correctly ?

I found more than a few articles with warning that you can damage keyless works by inserting stem wrongly into 7750. So, since I'm planning on doing some work on my Carrera chrono (first time doing anything on 7750), my question is of course how to do it correctly ?

insert and rotate slowly.

If you feel any resistance, keep rotating.

OK, but do you have to press that stem-release thingy that you have to press when you remove stem, and do you press it before starting to insert stem or when you feel resistance ?

I've always pressed it before inserting stem and then... patience!

what I do is... I press the stem to the movement... and I keep pressing when pushing the button...

Yes , press the button and hold , then insert the stem gently and hold , then release the button and it should work fine
