There isn’t any refinishing. That’s just how I got the case. It could definitely use some work though.

I saw these recently, my guy in Vietnam has had 16710 cases for a few months now but I just weld modded a 16610 case into a 16710 so i havnt purchased one yet. I’ll get some pics off him and add them to this thread for you guys and see how they look.

Not 100% sure but the rehaut depth looked a little shallow / not deep enough, might just be the photo angle and crystal. With a bit of case work it looks like a good base for project. Here’s a few close up pics of the viet case.

None that sell direct or have websites. its very early, they will pop up on Ruby or Phong soon probably. Its one of my contacts, I was only able to snag one for myself after this first build.

Be patient, go buy some gen parts first before they shoot up in price.

I’m unsure about building an Explorer II with this case (bezel?), but I have a gen 78790 bracelet which was used on the 5 digit Explorer II and some GMT Master II versions.

I see no reason why not as they use the same mid case. I converted a gen exp2 into a gmt2 a few years ago without issue.

im not looking to build any of these aside from a couple variations I am doing for myself. the costs of acquiring all the gen parts is frankly too time consuming, I don't want to be sitting on eBay and forums to snag parts. this post is just to inform people of a new solution if your looking to build an amazing 5 digit GMT.

if any of you are serious about this, like I mentioned go start collecting the gen parts. by the time these cases pop up more commonly, all you need is someone to assemble it since everything is drop in with zero modding!

I should have my build done by next week, I'll make sure to post better pics
