Hey guys,

I want to get a thread going of all Rolex tropical / aged dials going. Please post what you have or things you've seen done in the past and include whether it's gen or custom built by a modder. I'll start with some of my favorites below.

GEN Rolex dials - and pretty much my dream dials.

I was chasing a budget tropical dream build for a while and came up with this one. Built by Johnnylazar I traded it back to him on a different piece.

When I was brand new to the forum I acquired the dial on a different piece and eventually used it on this. Honestly it was cool until I really got into reps and started seeing much much better tropical dials. Johnny really made one hell of a watch out of a mediocre dial

Does anyone have a reliable system for achieving a brown tropical dial color? I’ve tried heat, bleach, UV lamps, etc. I know it’s done on modern dials but I can’t seem to find anything that works. Hoping to hear from someone with first hand experience.

Trials and date, so no reliable and reproductible method IMHO.
Except money of course if you buy Gen tropical dials.

Very nice alphons123! I will investigate this. Your dials look great.

i'm using a Tamiya weathering set, it doesn't exist anymore, but the Revell 39066 should do the same
