Figured you guys might like to see how the factory does it. No scratched bezels/cases, no lost springs and clicks, and the crystal won’t pop out along with the bezel either because you’re pushing down on it.

That is outstanding! If you could would you mind taking a pic of the jig the case rests in from the top without the case? I would love to make such a jig. I am assuming the material is Delrin?

Edit: Thank you for the post!

I always wondered how they do it.
I bet that’s delrin or PTFE

I ordered a 12"x2" chunk of Delrin to give it a go. I will post a link to the build thread here once it arrives. Looks like pretty straight forward setups. Hit the lathe first then then mill and Bob's your uncle!

Hopefully this helps get the word out. I come across so many watches with deep gouges in the case or bezel from the “butter knife” removal method that I couldn’t take it any more. Lol

I might try to replicate something like that too. I use jaw type but of course it's not ideal. But at least it doesn't leave marks like you said lol

Ordered delrin blocks too. I'll give it a go.

Delrin in the Hizzy! I just put it in the lathe to take a snap. I have a few projects ahead of this but hope to get to it in the next few days or so.
