ETA 2824 Movement Service

This is a tutorial for the ETA 2836 movement service.
Sorry for the title mistake as the td advertise as a 2824.

I was servicing this for Twodae at singapore.

I which the there was no missing part. However his other watch wasn't so lucky apparently.

The movement is overall easy to service and clean. However, the trick comes when a mod dw is installed or removed.
The general trick to uninstall is to lift the date finger at 10 oclock and move the dw clockwise to release the gear.
The trick to install is to engage the dw at 2 oclock and use a peg wood to press the date spring down at 10 oclock while sliding the dw into the space.

Raddave not sure of the difference tbh. The watch was sold as a 2824 by the td. I thought the 2836 comes with a date & day. Maybe they had removed the day disc.

It does but look at the date changer over , thats 2836 shit there ..

thank you for posting this tutorial, I hope to get into watchmaking someday, might mess up a few movements along the way but if I can solder 0201 resistors all day I could probably try my luck with an eta movement.

sn95 you have the love for watches. Surely you ok with watches. Passion will bring anyone far regardless of skills and experience.
