Hi Members,
today I was cleaning up my cellar. I found an old wooden winebox. I had a look at my watches and decided it is time to give them a new home.
Just for a short time until donerix finished the real one for me.
But, it was time to take them into a closed box.
The wooden wine box was perfect, not enough space for all , but for the most of them.
Nothing spectacular, just to keep them away from dust and playing chidren.
The next question was: How can I insert them into the box the most safest way ?
I found some insulation stuff in my garage, that stuff that is used to insulate the outside of the wall of the house in the underground ( I don’t know how to explain this material otherwise )
It is not styropore, it is called styrodore in germany.
Anyway, measured up the length and the thickness I needed, cutted it and performed a nearly smooth surface with sandpaper.
Than I found some goatskinleather
Applicated some glue to the styrodore and to the leather
Wrapped the leather around the styrodore and took some pressure on it ( just with the hands )
Rubbed away the extentional glue with the thumb and here we are
Placed it with watches into the winebox and finished.
It took me 1,5 hours and no cent to have a pre-home for my watches
Thank you for looking
