I'm not a cigar conisour but a few months ago or so the Mrs. and I had some friends over for a cookout. Later that evening the men sort of drifted to the back patio for drinks and conversation. A buddy came out with a bottle of some really good tasting stuff: Moyet Cognac I think it was. And a couple boxes of these cigars. To me the smaller "Romeo's" smoked smoother and he left me a handful of each but I never got around to actually asking what they were. Any cigar specialists happen to know what they are ?? Knowing him and his taste in things like this, I'd have to guess they're not "el-cheapo" cigars but I was just curious as I recall him saying they were from Jamaica. I know the cognac didn't taste real cheap to me either.
The bigger ones are Cohibas and the smaller ones are Churchill Romeo Y Juliets.

If those are the real deal you got yourself some Cubanos

but since you got them a few months ago and I'm assuming you don't own a humidor those things are probably as dry as a middle eastern man's sandal!

They do look poorly wrapped though...possibly bootleg cigars from anywhere in the Caribbean made of lord knows what and seeing as he just left you with a bunch of them I'm leaning to say they are for sure fake.

They are "replicas"

The Cohiba you have there is the most repped item on earth. The Romeo Churchills were a limited edition stick a few years back and the wrapper color is waaaaaaaay off and they are missing a classic triple cap. Enjoy them though. If they were Gen you'd be holding around $175 of smokes! ;)

Ahhh...so he went to Jamaica and bought some "reps"......wait'll I tell him.:stir: I can't wait to hear how much he paid for a box of each. :lol2:And THANKS for the indentification. Didn't cost me anything and while I'm not a cigar smoker, they're not bad...to me. Thanks again for the help.

It seems they are. They've been wrapped in siran wrap in a ziploc bag in the fridge since then. May hafta go fire one up and see how they..."woof"...burn.

Everyone knows I love cigars. Most cigars given to me by friends that vacation are fakes. I of course I say thanks you many times and to be truthful unless you really know your cigar palete, most fakes are quite good. They are replicating the look not the blend. The Espleditos there prob came in a glass topped box! First tell of a Cohiba fake.

You can tell by the Cohiba label -- the dots on the top register are way off. I bought some Montecristos and Cohibas in Mexico just for fun once -- actually not bad. Tasted Honduran, but who knows haha. If you enjoy nitpicking things, do a Google search for fake Cohiba bands -- the list is endless as far as different types are concerned.

The labels might be gen, they aren't hard to come buy. The incorrect/imperfect triple caps are a dead give away on the esplendidos... that, and the fact that they came from Jamaica. but if they taste good, then who gives a crap.

Those are fake cubans..... Note the squares on cohiba.... Cohibas are much more precise, even and not cut off...
