Rolex 3135 datewheel vs. ETA 2824-2

I always had in mind that there's no way to use a rolex datwheel in an ETA because ETA rotates datewheel in opposite direction than rolex does. But after searching a bit in the internet I realize that it is different the date movement direction in a rolex 3035 (vintage) than in a 3135 (modern), so I question to myself as well as to yours if a generic 3135 datewheel from offrei could be used to fit an ETA 2824. I guess that it would be necessary some additional work. Find below some pics to illustrate my questioning.

Look only at the positioning of the teeth. Ignore size and anything else for now. See on the 3135 wheel you pictured, where the teeth are in the middle of the number? On the 2824, they're practically between numbers. Regardless of any other factors, that's a deal-breaker right there.

Thanks pugwash for helping. you're absolutely right, but... could it be possible to cut the rolex datewheel and glue it on the ETA one? I've never had in my hands any of these datewheels and don't know how thick they are.

It isn't necessary to cut the teeth. After a similar thread on another forum, I tried it on a 2824 using a 3155 date wheel. (The 3155 rotates in the same direction as the Eta wheel) By carefully centering the wheel and attaching it to the Eta wheel, it will work perfectly without issues.

Where did yo install the movement? I have to do it in a genuine 16233 case and I'm not sure if the date numbers will line up in the date window.

The case shouldn't matter. The date window of a genuine Rolex dial will line up with a genuine date disc. If you set the date disc equidistant from the center of the cannon pinion all will be well. You can use double sided tape or dial dots to attach the date disc then verify a proper fit before you close the case if you like.

Thanks jdavis... I'll try. I have some date overlays from eBay (Luenfat) and they look pretty good (I need vintage model). But I'll try further on with gen datewheels.
