Hi All,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get solid gold Rolex parts? Could be gen, could be reps in solid gold—doesn’t matter to me. I’m looking into putting a solid white gold case onto my Noob 116519LN as well as a white gold clasp. I just want a heavy watch, but I’m not willing to spend 40-50k on something like that. Thought this would be a cool idea.

I'm assuming Caseback you meant? The clasp and Caseback won't make a big difference. You would need a solid gold bracelet and case to make any significant weight changes.

You got expensive ideas lol

No, I mean the full case. Not just the case back. But yeah, definitely an expensive idea for sure but damn it would be sick.

I've only heard of aftermarket solid gold daydate and submariner but never Daytona. Would be cool project....

big time, but it’ll still be cheaper than buying a proper gen solid gold watch, no?

A white gold Daytona weighs 205 grams if I recall. So about 9k usd worth of gold. Then you got to factor in labour. I know you don't need the whole thing gold but just to give you an idea...

I think the platinum weighs 290 grams.

Nearer than you think
it's not worth it for the 116519, i weighted a noob 116519 and a gen 116519 and iirc the difference was just around 30 grams, not noticeable unless you hold one in each hand. Different story would be for a 116509 since there's a full gold bracelet as well.

Labour is what makes the cost up, sadly.
On rings, earrings and bracelets we normally sell in our shop it’s easily 10€, and the cost is per gram.
Imagine that on a watch case, crown (pushers if any) bracelets where you have threads and stuff that requires perfection to fit properly.
