I think Rolex's decision to update the Submariner was a great one. The new 126610 case shape is far more elegant than the outgoing bulky "maxi" case and restores the symmetry and proportions last seen in the pre-ceramic era. The slimmer lugs and wider strap look perfect.

What I don't agree with was their decision to replace the all-green LV, which boasts a stunning dial that pictures rarely do justice to, with the black/green Kermit. This combo is just wrong in my eyes and the green bezel without the corresponding dial makes for a very weak substitute.

My question is, would it be possible to make a "Hulk" with the 126610 body? Given the new "41mm" and the previous "40mm" only differ in reality by half a millimetre, could the Hulk dial sit in the new case with some coaxing, or are there other differences that make this impossible? I'd love a 126610 Hulk!

The gen 3235 dials (at least on the DJ41) have a much different construction than before. No dial feet, so no foot holes in the movement. Some mods would be needed to put the older style dial on the newer movement but nothing that can't be overcome. It's possible there could be a slight gap between the rehaut and the minute tics, but that's not a dealbreaker IMO.

Some pics of a gen 3235 dial in the thread below
