All V10 has 2824 CHS timebomb

V11 BLNR and LN has VR3185 (exact same as all VRF)

V11 BLRO has 2824 CHS timebomb

All engravings are fake and may or may not correspond properly to the model being repped.

I think the goal is to allow a correct hand stack with a stable movement. The 2824 timebomb has the correct setting direction but is a travesty, and the only other alternative to the 3185/6 clones is a 2836, which has an incorrect hand stack.

GMF makes an SA3285 GMT movement but it's based on the the SA3135, a POS movement that is the worst of the rep 3135s. I know of only one member who bought one and he had problems with it right away. I would not buy one of those. The VR3185 is s great movement that can run well for a long time even without servicing.

VR3185 is based on the gen 3185. It has as its base the VR3135, as the gen 3185 has as its base the gen 3135.

VRF has only one true clone GMT movement, the VR3185. VRF uses a 2836 ICHS movement in a couple of rare instances. The VRF 126710 uses the VR3185.

VRF and Noob V11 BLNR and LN use the VR3185. ARF uses the SH3186 which is not nearly as good IMO. I have three dead ones in my parts drawer that won't be getting fixed. I was not able to make one good one out of the three broken ones. Sometimes they last if you are careful with them, YMMV. I would always take a VR3185, no contest.

I have read a huge amount of posts in different threads regards GMTs and want to find out what is happening with the different models models and versions available.

I believe that VR3185 will be my first priority in my decision.

Eric from GeekTime seems awesome, but I noticed the listing is for a SA3285 movement, and the photos are advertising it as 3186 movement. Any advice as to what to stay away from?

I would steer clear of that movement, it's based on the terrible SA3135. I have heard of only a few members who tried them and some have had issues early on. It has proprietary parts - non gen-spec so replacement parts are not available.

You are much better off choosing a VR3185, despite some occasional reports of issues.

Read the whole SA3285 thread that you also posted in, there is at least one negative report from a buyer.
