The one thing nobody mentions is the fact that only Noob have got the bezel correct as the gen blro has a different bezel to all other gmt models. It has a thicker lip and slimmer profile so even with a better insert it will still be wrong!

So maybe it was for appearance sake, or because of the much thicker insert that Noob designed their bezel gasket groove with an open top on it. I had thought it was just to save money.

While the Noob bezels do look good, there have been several reports of them being loose and in some cases popping off easily or even simply falling off. And if the gasket (hytrel ring) gets deformed, things won't go back together at all or the bezel might not rotate.
I bought one with the bezel off to experiment with fixing it. My findings are here:
Noob GMT Pepsi's poor bezel design
Mine still works perfectly with the fishline gasket and I have fixed a couple others as well. But this is not a bezel you want to remove and replace often. It's also very light and bends easily when prying it off. I was even able to bend one back to straightness with bare hands, that's how flimsy they are. Usually I have to lay a bezel's high spot over the edge of a stout board and whack it pretty hard a few times with a rubber mallet to unbend one and flatten it out.
