New VR 167170 movement

Just received new VR 116710 this morning and want to check how they did the gmt parts


Is only my opinion and is someone has different please don’t jump on me!!!

Insert numbers are not same thickness as gen
Gen is much “fatter”
The color of the platinum is very close and not noticeable from wrist

The case has a notch for the movement screws and they put very real screws without tabs for pressure fit

Dial and hands are very nice compared to previous version but nothing can beat gen dial with hands, so they are on my list to change

Now, to the chase
They did replicate the wheels following Rolex design but the quality of them are far behind
How long the jumping hour will last?? Good question but at least is swappable with gen part

Crystal is a joke as well as the date disc which has to be replaced with gen
Font is so thin and the background is textured un gen like

Bezel is nice but still using tape to secure the insert
Gen on the bottom

Gen bezel with gen hyrtle gasket fitted over rep crystal clamp

So not what we want to see and wear but hey
Lest then $500 for $10000 watch
I can live with that

Thanks for this very informative post, Mike! My money has always been with VRF on this one (vs ARF), and am glad it's not as horrible as others picture VRF to be. Again, thank misiekped!

Mike - Thanks for the detailed review. Even with gen, the 3185 jumping hour module is more reliable than 3186. So my money here would be get the VRF and install gen parts (as you suggested).

It is amazing to see continuous innovation coming out of the rep world. Exciting times...

I have seen the 3186 from Arf which has the 3186 parts and I will chose 3185
The 86 has that spring which is really fragile, it may be good but anyway 3185 is a vote for me

Yes, all gmt parts are interchangeable with gen

So it would be a better choice to go for the VRF movement rather than the ARF one?

would VRF accept gen bezel assembly (full) gen crystal gen hands and dial? Also do you think ARF bracelet can be added to the VRF with success (SELs)

Like already mentioned in the ARF thread of rob, I have some parts, like bezel assembly and dials incoming. Won’t need all of them and will create an official sales thread once they arrived. But if someone is interested, I prefer selling to the Franken freaks of us. So this is some kind of teaser
