Due to higher tolerances sometimes the SEL doesn‘t fit right. Noob Daytonas sometimes have this problem. What can you do?

1. swapp the endlinks and then check if they fit better

2. Always use high swiss / eta quality springbars

3. If the springbars are still wobbly, put 1 or 2 small layers of scotch tape between the lugs

Now it should be ok

Do you know what size springbars should be used?

I am going to try your mod to reduce the gap in the bottom right of my franken.

When I push with my hand the lower SEL it gets into the right position, so first I will find good spring bars (20mm right? Could you give us a hint on how to find the ETA or high quality ones you recommend to use?) and if not enough, tape to fill the gap and keep it in position :)

I have a couple watches where there is a SEL gap. Using tape you have to choose if you want a single larger gap or two evenly spaced smaller gaps. I prefer the latter.

great solutions but Do you have any idea how to fix/reshape the SEL when recess is not going equally all the way towards the case?

In your case start with some tape only on the right lower side between the lugs.

I cannot upload pics at the moment with tapa, but I will when it works again

Rolex springbar is 2mm diameter, 20mm length.

Thanks for your reply. I saw the following post in another thread, so the correct Diameter size was a little confusing...
Sounds like Noob could be using 1.75/1.8 mm dia. springbars when they should be 2.0 mm dia?

On my recently received noob, the terrible SEL's had an interesting cause for their poor fitment.

The center portion of the SEL springbar hole measured measured at 1.77mm while the outer two parts of the SEL measure out at 2.1mm. So one of the 1.75mm spring bar had bent causing a gap between SEL and case. The other springbar hadn't bent, but the flex the 2mm side holes allowed to the 1.75 springbar made for a SEL gap when ever any tension was applied to the watch bracelet.

I drilled out the center part of the SEL to match the larger outer parts. I then used a diamond bit to very, very slightly open case lug holes and installed the larger 2mm Submariner springs bars. The SELS now fit almost perfectly up against the case.

*Edit* I forgot to add that opening up the case lug holes to fit the slightly larger Sub springbars also gave the opportunity to correct any issue with the springbars lug hole alignment.

2mm diameter springbars are quite hefty and may not work in a Noob Daytona. Both of mine were quite a headache to get the bracelet back on with the stock springbars, which are ~1.8mm diameter. Had to bend the tips slightly toward the case to get them to snap home. No way a 2mm springbar would work, at least on mine.

Drilling out the springbar holes a little is a great solution, sadly it's beyond the capability of most.

Thanks in advance.
