Just received my VRF Hulk 3135
I’ve lurked the forums here for sometime seeing the great Optimism for this release and some of the inconsistencies we’ve seen from folks that received their watches
Let me preface this by saying I’ve owned the gen, I’ve owned superfranken noobs with all the gen parts I could get my hands on and I own a bunch of gens, gensteins and superfranken rolexes
I know Rolex
So when I saw the numerous sell issues reported I was disappointed. I ordered an ARF bracelet in the event I received a bad SEL piece but then I saw reports it wouldn’t fit
I also saw some guys in here trying to claim the green wasn’t as good as the ARF or Noob, they’re clearly mentally retarded or never actually owned the gen. This smokes them
But all in all early reports were a Bummer because I have a gen movement sitting in a drawer and crystal, crown tube and hands coming for it
Well I just got it last night and man it’s a homerun
-Sels are fantastic and even slightly recessed
- insert color is far and away theeee closest I’ve seen to a gen aside from the few “correct” noob V7 inserts floating around. I think the color is better
- dial is phenomenal clearly closest I’ve seen to gen
- datewheel numbers are about perfect and nicely centered on mine
- crystal is quite nice, my mag is fine
- case shape is as good as the best noob
-bracelet is like butter
-movement keeping good time but that’s getting yanked out for a gen anyway
On the negative side the insert cutouts are too deep and the color of the platinum is far too bright. I’m sending mine to be sputter plated. It’ll be a butt their from a gen with the plating
So did I get lucky? Apparently so but regardless the insert color and case are worth it for my franken project
