I asked my friend to Take a few pics of his GEN 2005 TT Daytona after I showed him my Noob 116520. Rep pics are first obviously.

A few Thoughts of mine. I only received this yesterday, The watch is of nice quality, it doesn’t feel any different to handling his Gen. Case shape is pretty spot on his lugs ever so slightly pointy at the sides. SEL are more recessed on Gen, Flush on the NOOB ( I’m aware I’m comparing completely different age versions ) The rep bracelet is really nice. The stand out difference is the dial text. Chronograph pushers appear slightly different 3 rings at the top on Gen 2 on rep. They feel the same when using them. I bought this solely to check out the working chronograph and it does work exactly like Gen, quite an amazing feat of reverse engineering. I mentioned in another thread the watch winds very smoothly but a noticeable difference to Gen and I’ve noticed difference other reps winding. it’s keeping great time after I wound it.

I don’t think the Daytona is for me, more of a style thing for me. Although I fully appreciate what Noob have done to get a fully Gen functioning rep. I just needed to see it for myself. This one will go M2M to a proper Daytona fan.

Comparing a decade old GEN to the REP based on 2015ish GEN is not accurate when it comes down to "font" or bezel "flatness" issue. Another thing is the "ring count" on pushers. I'd read more about the GEN models and markings differences over the years before throwing above information on the forum. We need more fact based "comparisons" rather than speculations. Just my lousy 2 Cents.

if you want to be like that it’s also not accurate to compare two different models, ones a two tone for starters.

My post doesn’t claim to be a rep vs or direct model comparison. It clearly states the year of the Gen and I noted that I’m aware these are two different age and model.

As far as speculation goes I didn’t mention the bezel nor that the rep is in anyway incorrect, so no misinformation on my part, I noted the differences between these two models.

I think it’s it’s obvious to assume people know if they want a real idea of the reps accuracy you compare the same model and age variation. Thanks for pointing it out though

The post was more about the look and feel of the NOOB compared to a Gen Rolex as my friend happens to have one, I thought it might be helpful or just something for people to enjoy it in some way. Unfortunately you didn’t and that’s cool. I’ll leave you to conduct the fact based comparisons you need. Thanks for looking.

Original post last edited by stufuse; 29-10-18, 07:24. Sure, shortly after I've posted my opinion.
So let me get this straight now: Posting pictures to draw conclusions for members on their own is one thing and we (I) always appreciate opportunity to do so but writing conclusive comparison paragraph afterwards - that is what you claim it not to be. Not all members understand the changes these models went through the years of manufacturing process and slight but significant differences between models and production years. I'm not here to bash your post but to give you an idea how to improve the community by giving it the clearest, most comprehensive information we could procure. Least I would expect from supporting members.
Respectfully, don't be one of "who has the best sub" crowd.

I wouldn’t say it was comprehensive

Yes, Ive already said I compared aspects of the two models. which clearly stated they are if different age and model. You can take the post how you wish.

Everything I wrote is still there after I my grammar edit. I wouldn’t change my post just because you’ve posted your thoughts on it.

Thanks for the advice
keep being you.

Thanks for sharing your comparison review. Sure the text on the dial needs to be redefined. I’m starting to learn all this, quiet interesting.
