:clap:EDIT 18.12.2017 : Problem solved! Go to the last post for some eyecandy :)

Hi guys,

Another day another problem :)

As some of you may remember, some time ago i posted a thread about my JF 16610lv having glued hands (maybe?).

And while trying to remove them, the sec hand got broken and it's shaft remained jammed on the sec pinion.

Well today i managed to pull the remaing part of the seconds hand out ( yey! :) ) and decided to install a brand new one !

All went well, i set the hands gently on position, pushed them in using a hand setting tool and voila :

What a beauty! Right ? The blue sec hand was the only one i had lying around but i plan to re-lume it in the future.

Now the bad news :

When putting the crown back in i noticed that none of the functions work. I could wind the watch and also couldn't pull the crown out in order to adjust the date or time. The crown just spins freely in both directions in it's 1st position. I removed the crown from the movement sevral times in hope it will enetually work but without any success.

The crown snaps in but neither the winding or time stetting work. I managed to pull it out evetually using a bit of force to the time setting position but it spins freely like before.

Do any of you have any clue on what could be the problem here ?

All went fine while installing the hands, i could adjust time and set the date.

Keyless needs resetting or your winding gear has sheared
Thanks A ! Another thing i noticed is i couldn't reinstall the oscillation weight. Is this a clue to if the winding gear is gone ?

How can i reset the keyless ? Is the winding gear one of the 2 brown gears visible under the auto-winding bridge ?

What he said ^^ but take the crown and stem out and check that the clutch mechanism inside the crown is still working as it should, although it sounds most likely to be the keyless.

The oscillator needs pressing lightly down whilst rotating it to engage the drive gear beneath. The two faults are not linked, the keyless has no bearing on the autowind operation.

The two brown gears you refer to are the autoreversers ( centrifugal clutches) again they have no bearing on the keyless works.

To me it sounds like keyless problem. Maybe you pushed too deep the crown/release button by removing the stem?

Maybe byt the button came back up.

So what do you think i should do ?

By clutch you mean the sping inside the crown ? If so it works indeed.

Is this an easy fix? Will google it and see what comes up.

sounds to be keyless. button popping up doesnt mean its working.

youtube service 3135 and fast forward to the part where he takes the keyless apart and then puts back together.

i cant remember what order he goes in but you just need the top portion of the movement. he tends to start on the top, then flip it around, then go back, then flip over.

I have the same thing. . .
I can't set the date or time. I see you've managed to fix the watch.
Maybe you'd like to help me.
