I love when this thread gets bumped. I love this thread. Its always nice to see a hulk. Whether it’s a stock factory of choice or a new Franken.
The hulk is my favorite watch for a reason.

I was going to try this but to be honest, I like the clean dial better than the BP. At first I was on the fence and leaning BP (in terms of sunburst and coloring and fade from green to black) but I switch from BP to clean and really started appreciating how it dark the CF dial gets on the slightest flick of the wrist.
Was this the the first time you swapped out markers? I’d love to hear more about this as it’s a project I already started practicing. I’ve taken markers off of a few cheap dials and going to start experimenting with putting them on.
How did you affix the clean factory markers to the dial? Pics of the process? You can dm them to me but I’d love to see them.

Just a comparison between the hulk with the BP dial and the hulk with the clean dial.
At first I was going to just identify with the dates and then I realized the pics I pulled of the BP dial are from the 7th of some month. Lol. Never fails. So I'll just edit the post....

Now I remember when I was trying to decide, I kept looking at pics and being swayed by pics of the BP dial but I kept catching myself and thinking "the clean dial has this appeal that I can't capture in a Pic".
Like the way it goes so dark to green and vice versa with almost no adjustment. Just subtle little things.
And I do think, a lot of times many of us look beyond what looks best in lieu of what photographs best. Which is tricky. Especially with a hulk.

I can't switch the markers myself, so my watchmaker did it. How, I don't know? But I have some pictures of the process. Which I will attatch after this.
But for the clean and BP dial, I still prefer BP 28xx dial (NOT Miyota or 3135 dial - I have had them all, but the 28xx stands out).
I think everything about the BP dial is spot on except the sunburst, it is a bit too harsh under direct sun, where clean is more subtle.
BP also goes completely black in a lot of light situations, but clean only goes black in a very few light-setups.
But yeah, it depends on what you prefer. I LOVE my BP dial with clean markers, it looks SO gen imo and couldn't be happier for it.

Taking the markers off the clean dial:
Once the clean markers are installed on the BP dial, it will need to be in the oven till the next morning.

LuoIsBoss oh nice. He does... he did good work. That came out awesome. And whether you prefer the BP or CF dial itself, one thing we can all agree is that CF markers are a step up.
Nice post. I really enjoyed seeing it. For me, while I’ve enjoyed (and even gotten kinda good) at taking the markers off, putting them back on is truly the tough part.
