Looking for 16600 expert

Hi all,

I recently bought a 16600.
hoping someone can identify the case set. It was mentioned as “unknown” in the sale description.

also would like to know if anyone know how an insert change is done - same way as 16610? Or does it require a different technique?

The SEL fitment underneath does not look BP to me, nor the profile. Dunno, just doesn’t look like a BP and I’ve had 3 of them.

also, the insert pops out, new one pops in. Be warned: the only insert that will fit is a No Date sun (14060) or SD 16600. The Date Sub 16610 will not fit, and 99.9% of the replacements you’ll find are for date subs.

the bracelet is a 16610 (93250) one. So not orig for the watch. Perhaps that explains the SEL?
i saw a modding guide from years ago where a member shaved the insert to match his bp correctly because it also popped. Could it be an old bp case?
it supposely has an eta inside and not the 3135 movement. Not sure if that makes identifying the case easier?

Aparently previous models of the 16600 fropm BP had the caseback that has the "Original gas Escape..." NOT CENTERED, the newers show it centered
The mythical BPSD came with an asian clone 2836
CGs seems a bit chunky but can be modded drilling lugs its another cool mod
in my "new" BPSD the crown seems to have the same hight as yours and looks centered

the clasp code is x9, model: 50190

i havent actually been able to take the caseback off and check movement. But if you scroll up to the sales link, the seller provided a picture of the movement. However its not a good picture. Im not an expert but i thought the ETA’s looked different.
i planned to open the caseback and ordered one of those bergeon balls to unscrew casebacks, but its to tight for me to open it

You can use a ball of duct tape or packing tape, sticky side out, make it big, and press and spin the caseback off. The ball works well, but you don’t need it.

Tried alle these 3 methods now. Cannot open the caseback - goddamn its super tight

As the movement showed to be fake..

can anyone verify if the insert is fake or gen?
it was stated as gen in the m2m sale.

it was easy to take out. Came right off. Looks like it has been glued on some time ago.
