Hi,

I'm planning to convert my genuine 16523 to 16520 with gen 16520 parts, but having difficulty in finding a set of gen 16520 hands. I've bought a couple of hands sets as gen but when compared with my gen 16523 hands set, they don't share the same dimensions in terms of the hands' pinions/holes. My watch maker said they would not fit 4030 movement without modifications and that they were perhaps the skinny hands sets for early 116520. I asked the vendor and the vendor told me that the hands were compatible with both 4030 and 4130 movements.

Has anyone tried the same conversion? I would appreciate any advices from the knowledgeable and experienced forum members regarding the compatibility/interchangeability between the 16520 hands and the 116520 skinny hands.

Best regards

I'd listen to your watchmaker. If you bought the hands from Wholesaleoutlet990, maybe he'll take them back.
The 4030 Zenith movement modified by Rolex is completely different from the totally in house 4130 by Rolex. I just don't know about the hands being the same.

Thank you very much, alligoat.
After I pointed out the differences, the vendor agreed to take the hands back but said he would send me another set that should be gen (honestly I don't care if gen or not as long as they can fit 16520). According to my watch maker, the gen 16520 hands are hard to come by and would cost me dearly if I manage to find them. Does anyone know if there are aftermarket hands set that can fit 16520 without modification?
