GMF 36 Datejust SA3135 or A2824 need help

Hello everyone, I am planning to buy my wife a 126234 36 Datejust with a black dial, diamond indices and a jubilee bracelet. I read many threads in this forum and came to the conclusion that the GMF is the way to go as it seems to be most gen like and best quality ootb. This model is available with an SA3135 clone movement or with an A 2824 movement. And here is my question: Does one or even both movements have the time and date setting and instant date change at midnight as the gen 126234? If so which movent would you prefer. I think the A 2824 movement is more reliable right? Qny experience with the 3135 clone? Looking forward for some advice. thank you all

The SA3135 is widely regarded as the worst rep 3135 movement. It's also harder and more expensive to service it and find parts.

The 2824 is more reliable and easier and cheaper to service and find parts for.

Neither will match a gen 126x time setting AND quickest date setting exactly

Gen 126x - Backward crown = fwd hands, fwd date

SA3135 - Fwd crown = fwd hands, fwd date

2824 - Backward crown = fwd hands, Fwd crown = fwd date

Buy the ARF version datejust with a sh3135.... GMF bracelet feels really cheap and sharp. This way you can add gen Dial in the future.

But I read that the bold date wheel of the ARF is a tell.

madedo I just want to mention, since I am looking for Datejust VSF or ARF myself, that both these companies are not open at the moment. So any order you place may take longer. Just a heads up.
2 TDs did mention that GMF is available.

Yea there is a 36mm ARF datejust... Trust me if you buy a GMF there is much much more to worry about than a thick date wheel lol.

They improved their crystal and date wheel on the ARF. The dial swap would be easy exchange with the ARF sh3135. You can even put a genuine roulette wheel too.

With GMF the dial is nice except for the awful crown. Their bracelet is garbage and so is the crystal. The fluted bezel is bad on the GMF too.

ARF does not make a 12 series DJ, only 11 Series.

I bought the GMF black dial for my wife, and its a decent rep. I first bought the SA movement, despite everyone including KJ2020 warned me about it It broke after 1 week. I then bought the A movement, and its still ticking away after about 3-4 months.

The Old one i had whanged with a VR movement form a hulk. So i will proberbly sell the A movement watch again, as i prefer the VR

Its a good rep, and if you refinish the bracelet, it will be just fine. Only thing you absolutely need to change is the crystal. The cheep solution is a VSF crystal, and the expensive solution is Gen. (I went in this case with the VSF)

I have the GMF 36 datejust white romans with domed bezel. Bracelet is acceptable after ultrasonic clean and oil bath - was not great out of the box.
I only got it because ARF was not making one with that dial/bezel configuration and wasn't sure if a 36mm was for me.
Xtal is ok on the white dial, datewheel is good.
Also got the SA movement, we will see how long it lasts...

You will be better off going to trusty time and searching "ARF datejust 36mm". Find a model you like, there is like 6 options to pick from.

You will hate the bracelet on BP and GMF. There is no oil bath trick that magically makes it not feel sharp or cheap... Even if you tried making the edges softer it still doesn't work. Not worth the time and effort.

Get the GMF version with VR3235. This is the best version of all 36mm DJ.
