116613LB with the Nikz19 twist

So after a pretty sh*t 12 months I wanted to treat myself to something a bit different. Having owned several gens this reference will always push my buttons. As I can’t justify investing nearly £12k into a gen right now I spoke to Nikz and we came up with a PlanB.
I have to say dealing with Nikz was a pleasure, communication was superb and he kept updated and talked me through every step.
So he took a CF 11613LB, did a full service and swapped out the barrel and mainspring for gen, installed a gen datewheel, gen crystal and pressure tested.
He then replated to same colour as gen and added a ceramic nano coating.
Have to say I’m knocked out with his workmanship and the end result, yes people will find flaws, it’s still a rep.
I have no intention of trying to pass it off as gen, but every time I look at it I crack a smile and know it’s going to last me many years, so mission accomplished.

It’s a clear coating that goes over the plating to protect it from scratches and the usual everyday wear and tear……

I would say that it does. Strangely enough I have the ARF 116613LB as it comes OOTB and this feels completely different.

Do you put cellphone cover over the clasp or will the plating not wear off?
