Difficult to screw and unscrew sub crown

I've had my 16610 sub for a little bit, and noticed that it's really hard to unscrew and screw the crown on it all the way using just my fingers. I have to use a cloth or paper towel to gain more traction to turn the crown, whether screwing it open or closed. Is this a normal occurrence for this watch? It's a franken based on an ARF 16610LN.

Some of them can be harder than others. Recently RWI member "dru" posted about having the same problem with a new Kermit. They fixed it by unscrewing the crown and cleaning the thread with dental floss. Cunning idea - and it worked!

So maybe that's something worth trying, to see if it's just a bit of dirt causing it.

I tried using the floss a some sort of file so blanken / polish the thread. Then I applied some silicone grease and lubed the threads as well as I could, then dried it of. It has made it much better - thank you!
Still not "good", but better!
