Hanski as my watchmaker and I are suffering through a difficult build.
I purchased a gen 7753 to put in a navitimer rep that previously had an A7750 and I didn't realize that the 7750 date wheel is smaller than the 7753, so while not sunken the date is cut off at the edge.
I'm going to try and put an overlay on the 7753 date wheel that is the proper size.
Strangely I found it the same part number 2557/1 is listed as the date wheel for both the 7750 and a 2824 both from ETA and from Otto Frei.
This seems like a piece of news I should know but I can't find anywhere where date wheel interchangeability is discussed between these two movements.
The reason why this matters is that you can purchase just the overlay for the 2824 but you can't purchase the overlay for the 7750 and trying to peel the overlay from the wheel is iffy at best.
Alternatively if somebody has both a 7750 and a 2824 date disc handy and can give me the inside and outside diameter then this would all be settled.
