I’ve been looking at a watch that has the new 3235 movement, I’ve been trying to find out a bit more about it. People have been saying different things when I’ve asked about the 3235, Someone said it’s based on the SA platform and should be avoided, I think they said it’s a decorated SA3135, but someone else said it’s the more reliable 2836. Would appreciate it if anyone knows anything about this new movement, or if you own one and could tell us how it’s been performing.

My understanding is that it's a decorated 2836. Do you have a photo of the movement?

Only these stock photos.

Andrew from Trusty said it a custom Asia 3235, but I doubt that.

A big thank you to Rolie on RWG for his advise on this 3235 movement, He said he has worked on a few of them and they are rubbish, and to steer well clear of this 3235 movement. It's supposed to some sort of seiko hybrid with cover plates.

Reliability aside, the important thing to note is the Genuine Rolex 3235 movement has the same time set direction as an ETA 2824/2836; and the Genuine Rolex 3135 time set direction opposite of an ETA.

As Rollie reps have closed case backs, go for an Asian 2824/2836 if the Genuine has an 3235. If the Genuine has an 3135 get an Asian 3135.

Alternately, some choose 2824/36 because they are traditionally more reliable, even if it may have the wrong time set direction — if that important to you. Hope this helps.

This movement looks like the latest offering from GMF. Its basically an SA3135 with some added cosmetic fluff and a 3235 engraving. I believe Andrew is correct. GMF has put out a very similar 3285, pics and info here

https://forum.replica-watch.info/fo...298-gmf-v3-asian-clone-3285-movement-released

You can easily identify the balance assembly as belonging to an SA3135, and also easily see the cheap finish shoddy parts common to the SA. That is not a deco plate, unfortunately.

SA is the only rep 3135 balance assembly with the regulator arm (2 dots) on the left
