Guys, I've been obsessed with the Harry Winston Midnight line since it was released in 2011 Baselworld. The Harry Winston name is synonymous with class, wealth and timelessness. But their watches have always been over the top (Opus) until the new head of HW sought to bring the elegance to their Men's watches. Gentlemanly simplicity.

My favourite watch brand has always been Cartier, but the Harry Winston Midnight line is on a whole nother level. It marches to the front of the line for me. I want reps for this so badly.

Mates, what do you guys think? I'd love to hear your opinions.

It has Wolverine's Vote

Even Wolverine is a fan.

Below is the Midnight "Countdown To A Cure" model. It was a limited edition that they created for AIDS research. That's why the dial edges begin from fiery yellow (critical) to cool blue (cure).

What do you guys think? How can we get this rep?

Any decent HW rep would be instantly added to my collection. Some of these are pretty simple designs. I love the HW brand, and spent some time in the LDN Boutique last week chatting to Sahara, who is great as their in house watch specialist. She spent 6 years with Rolex before moving to Jaeger, then to HW and has a lot of industry knowledge, though is still learning HW. She let me try on a number of pieces, my favorite of which was the Zalium Alarm

Very nice. If you find a good rep, please post.

I know. I've been looking. With just Googling 'Harry Winston replica', some sites come up and have them for "sale". I gather it's a scam if folks on here don't know about it. They're stunning and I'd do almost anything for a rep. Hopefully someone on here can help

These are classic styles and generally very nice, but I ask: what does it say about an owner willing to pay $10-25k for something like this when there are so many more distinctive options out there? And this is not about complications -- A Calatrava is the height of simple elegance, but its also a Patek haha. For me, a Harry Winston watch shows a lack of imagination and doesn't bring much to the party. But hey, some people like cucumbers more than pickles ...

I definitely share your passion, but looking at the comment below ours is breaking my heart. Surely, we aren't in the minority. These watches are stunning

Perfect clones just listed some HW recently but don't expect too much:

anyways - i don't like them and stick to some good old patek dress watches :D

Wow. Thanks. Do you trust them at all? Or was it just a search find?

Also why don't you like them? They're handsome watches, so it's likely not an aesthetics thing. Pateks (while I can't stand them) are industry standard and easily appreciated once spotted on someone's wrist. Is that the reason? I'm just trying to get a feel for the why.

Anyone else feeling the Christopher Ward vibe on these?

That said - not a fan.

But by that standing, any simple dress watch has the same vibe. I think because dress watches are often so simple, what tends to matter is the wearers allegiance to the house. What about these make them less desirable than any other dress watch?

This is a Patek. Its nearly indistinguishable from the Harry Winston besides the hands. So what makes it better? I'm honestly curious.

But thats a bit contradictory, mate. You just asked "what about the Harry Winston makes it worth over $10k?". You also say its not a complications discussion. Then you go and mention a Calatrava. The second Calatrava for sale on Google is just under $30,000.00 . Yet somehow that is worth it?

You say its the height of elegance. Can you explain why? As it is nearly identical to the Harry Winston and most other dress watches. One of the few dress watches which holds creativity in esteem is the Cartier Tank. Other than that, take off the Patak name and show the Calatrava to a regular joe, and they will mistake it for a Daniel Wellington. I'd be happy to fund that experiment.

Although, you also ended with "but its also a Patek haha." Which confirms my theory with xray7 . My theory which states that its all down to allegiance to the House whose name is branded on the dial.

You also say Harry Winston "shows a lack of imagination". I think its buying a Patek which does that. A Patek is the obvious choice for a typical moneyed lad who wants a watch for the office. Its a BMW 3 series-type choice. The Harry Winston (in my opinion) conveys a willingness to explore. It conveys individuality and uniqueness. Its an Alfa Romeo, not a BMW.

Everyone and their grandmother has a BMW, even 'basic starbucks LA girls'. Don't buy a BMW.

Could you elaborate? I'd value your opinion

Because it looks like just another brand that's relentlessly trying to hop on the luxury watch bandwagon. That through dress watches that look like every other watch you can get for much cheaper. And some people might even know the brand of the cheaper one. No one will know this. Just a bs brand and looks imho.

Not really. Classic date at 3 vs Ward and the propensity to a date at 6 of which they seem rather fond, branding at the cost of a contextually clean dial. What I would regard as an "overbearing" case for purpose.

On a tangent here, but Ward's product is horrendously overhyped and having looked into the company structuring combined with the marketing previously, whilst not being outright dishonest, one might use the terms evasive and circuitous in relation to some of what they do.

Not enough to merit me getting into a debate over two watches I personally wouldn't wear. I've worn divers since I was a child and dress, in the water or casual, I will always wear divers watches. If I were to go Patek, gold case Nautilus all the way.
