Hey guys! I'm new to the reps and I placed an order and just got my QC. I'm wondering if you guys can help me understand the time graph reading. Is this watch acceptable? My main question is for the +016 s/d. Thanks!

The timing (+16s) could be better and the amplitude is a bit low. Maybe the watch was not properly wound prior to the test. Ask your TD to fully wind the watch and put it back on the timegrapher.

Good luck!

what is the point of sending such a timegrapher reading to a customer?...totally useless. it's obviously a shitty reading, what does this td expect a customer to do with such a result? i guess it proves the watch runs...yay.

It does nothing for veterans like yourself, but for someone admittedly new to the game, it imparts a sort of placebo effect. Personally, I don't really check the actual readings but it soothes me when I see in the thumbnails that it's there. ;)

Beat error is good. Lift is good. Amplitude is a little low but likely needs to be wound more. 16 is too high to accept unless you know how to regulate yourself. Once fully wound at 270+ amp that'll likely increase

Thanks! What's the ideal range for s/d? Should I reject or do you think they can do it for me?

I'd reject or have them fix and retest. Ideally under 10 for a rep is good. Keep in mind ten tested once in that position could mean 15+ overall. And 16 could be 20+ overall. A real test is taken in multiple positions over a period of time. A snap shot is only part of the story.

-3 s/d = that's pretty good although not enough info to tell you how accurate the timing is...a worn watch is not in dial up position all day
292 deg=again, good amplitude
0.0=beat error, doesn't get any better
28800=bph, beats per hour or 8 Hz, just tells you the frequency of the escapement

I'd take that all day. I like to time my watches slightly positive that way over time it will get more accurate, but you have nothing to worry about with those results.
