New Black Hole Crystals are available!

We're in a lucky time now that several new companies are making Sapphire crystals with the blackhole effect.

This is one of their first batches. It's the green tint AR. They have a new black tint coming at the end of this week. Pricing is only $90 USD.

There was another thread that got derailed because someone asked about this crystal and another person felt you couldn't get a decent sapphire crystal for $90. See for yourself. What do you guys think? If you don't like it, it's fine. It's not a Gen crystal, and it's not Gen price.

I personally think this is an incredible crystal for the money. There is a green tint on the cyclops that only shows up in certain pictures. I'd buy the new Black Hole Black tint version and eliminate that "issue" At the time, only these green tinted crystals were available.

I just discovered that 2fake4u already had a thread similar to this, and it's much more detailed. He actually has both a Prof and CC crystals on hand and has compared them side by side. That was the goal of this thread, but I think that 2fake's thread is more detailed and that he obviously has much more knowledge than I. This thread is from an average joe consumers standpoint. The other is more of an expert level comparison. Both have merit, but I want everyone to be aware of @2fake4u 's thread.

The fit is great and the magnification is correct if you use the correct gasket. It does come with the gasket. I just used the existing TC or you can order some from Star Time.


Edited because I received word that a Gasket does come with the crystals.

I just used the existing TC gasket. No compound. A simple crystal press was all it took to seat it.

You'll probably have to look long and hard. There were only 50 made. It's a TC Rouge. They're extremely rare.

The hour hand is also a Maxi hand. It's larger than the hands used on a LN. The minute hand is standard sized.
Basically, it's a combination of the Red hand from a Yachtmaster, a black date wheel, and the Maxi Hour hand of an LV.

He was, I did my best to shake it loose when he started he quest to gen, but alas I was too late.

Yep. These rarely come available and having owned it since 2014/2015 I may have been it's second owner.

A friend of mine just received an email back from Crystal CleAR and the crystals do in fact come with a gasket! The one I received didn't have one, but maybe that was because it was a beta/test version.
