How to build your own Rolex

Hi friends, I'm looking for the way I can to build my own Rolex and I do not have the most important thing, where can I get the parts?
I only know a few places, but it's not enough

If you have to ask, its not for you.

Are you trying to use gen or rep parts? If rep, better to buy one. If gen, get the wallet ready to get emptied.

For a reference, i have 2 16610ln builds, with over 1k in just parts each, a 116610ln with over 2k in parts and a 116710ln with over 2k in parts. That doesn't take into account all the time to find these parts, and assembly time


Ebay, m2m sales here, gen watch forum sales. It can take months for the right parts to pop up for sale and when they do, they sell quickly

I want to build a Franken

I have a Franken TC LV and all the cost, over the 1,1k
TC V5 base
Yuki 3135
Gen insert
Gen hands
Gen crown
Gen tube
Gen crystal LEC (not installed at the moment)
All the parts, get here, but I want up the next level and I dont know what the others sites...

Sorry, I read a lot and all the information I found, is not updated and some dealers are no longer in business; I would appreciate it very much if you could guide me. I would like to do some 1680, 5513, 5512, 1675, 16700, for example ...

Well, Gan_Antique on Ebay offers good value for money dials, if you want better there's Ming Quy or Phong, but they aren't perfect either - for that you'll have to buy gen and that'll be at least $2000.
Cases, the Cartel vintage 1680/5512/1675 are a good base, Phong/Ming Quy also do cases for $1200 - $1400, but if you're going to spend that sort of money, I'd buy a gen case for $2000 myself.
Inserts, all rep inserts are crap, if you want a good insert you need to buy a gen.
Crowns, the same, buy a gen.
Crystals, the aftermarket plexi crystals are OK, but a gen crystal is much better - same with sapphire, gen is much better.
For your franken LV, the dial will be very expensive, but you could buy a normal 16610 dial for $300 - $450 on Ebay.
For gen Rolex parts look on Ebay, The Rolex Forum, Vintage Rolex Forum, VRN - Network54

Just ask any TD for a Cartel 1680/5512/1675 etc - they all know what they are - try TORO as he ships from Spain, so it's pretty close to you . . . .

The Cartel watch cases need to be modified, but they are a good, not too expensive base to work from.

RWI probably isn't the base place for this sort of exercise.....probably better luck digging around homage forum. More builders and part suppliers there.

I apologize in advance for necro-threading but why not just buy a Raffles Dials 116610 kit and a gen or clone ETA2824 movement? All you need is a few tools and the ability to do the assembly. It ain't gonna' be the best rep around but the question was where to get parts.
