I don't see this too often in the wild, i don't expect that the factories make this either anyway, but anyone who loves the design aspect of this as well?

The story for those who don't know: this watch was designed by mistake. A customer of cartier brought his watch back to a boutique to get it fixed - the watch was broken from a car crash. Cartier thought that the design was intriguing and made a whole line for the inspired design.

this piece speaks to my inner design centric self :)

i was a great admirer of Dali's work when i was an art major a decade ago

im starting to swing to smaller watches now :rofl:

the originals were only produced in hundreds of quantities, reaching well over 100k :O

had no idea tbh, always thought that i was part of their standard lineup!

Our sub 46mm hater member base would probably hate this. As you know any watch smaller than 46mm was made for ladies according to them.

i chanced upon this video from hodinkee about cartier, pretty interesting watch as it explores Catier's approach to timepieces, it's all about the case geometry!

Pretty rare to find a company who does case shapes so proportionately and simplistically well. Most stick to classically round shapes :)
