Howdy fellas,
I was able to feel well enough, whislt walking with a cane, hang out with of my step father of over 30 years at "The Goodguys Lonestar Nationals" car show and event at Texas Motor Speedway recently for 2 days. He has a beautiful and uncommon 1946 Ford Business Coupe resto mod. It has a late model 302 cid 9:1 motor, Edlebrock heads, intake, cam carb, a 4V, a 4R70WAODE transmisson (gearbox) and a 9" Ford rearend. A/C, PS, PB, Cruise...the works. Mom and Dad live on a 20 acre ranch ab out 4 miles from Alliance Airport and about 6 miles from TMS...so without further ado, here are the pics.
Beautiful weather
600 acres of show WOW
A spectator stand view (from the www)
1957 Belaire restomod
LS1 Motor...whew yeah
1968 Calypso Coupe Mercury Cougar 1/70
The 50 year old owner has owned this car since 1981...Has all the original parts. He said a dealer in Florida converted 70 of these Cougars to The Calypso Coupes...lots of cool options, I believe it is a 428 motor, sequential tail lights, lot's and lot's of documentation and president of the DFW Cougar club. A very rare, very COOL $75,000 driver.
[
1967 Mustang GT500 ($200,000 car here)
1969 Pontiac Trans Am...1 of 604, $200,000 car
So we had 2, $200,000 cars parked next to other and DRVEN into the show. WOW, how is that for balls?
Replica AC Cobra, 347 cid stroker, Tremec transmission, vinyl/removeable decals, it was FOR SALE for $33,000
1968 Camaro SS with an LS power plant
1968 Mustang GT500
Dad's 1946 Ford resto mod
302 cid, Edlebrock top heads, intake and carb, Vintage Air, AOD tramsmission, leather and more...very cool and great driving car.
Fellas OMG, this sumbitch was 600 acres of "car guy" heaven. Absolutely no WAY, even in a rented 4 wheel scooter ($60 a day and about 2000 scooters zipping about....BEEP BEEP), to see and pay much attention detail to this insanity. Cars of ever possible combination from $200,000 DRIVEN gems to "rat rods". Approximately 3000 participants as well as vendors, events, shows, booths, merchandise, food, LIVE bands and more. It was worth even penny spent and ever minute I was there for 2 days.
WOW :woot:
