I have heard as well that one of the reasons the raids happened in the beginning, was, that some shitheads tried to sell VSF Subs and Noob Daytona's as the real thing . R***x really urged the government to make some arrests. Because a lot of people were scammed in China as well, the government had also interest in doing something against the rep industry.

A lot of speculation --> I hope that in the next months there will be more light on the situation and we will find out what got this shit started.

Sounds fully within the realms of possibility.

I'm also wondering whether the reason why Noob cannot be replicated by other factories is because they probably had to import/source highly specialised tooling which is not easily replaceable. I remember reading that way back in the 60s, when the Chinese first bought the rights for the Venus 75 movement, that they had to get all the tooling imported from Switzerland as no similar tooling existed in China. Even though they now had the schematics for the movement design, they could not build it without first getting these tools from the Swiss.

This is also purely my conjecture, of course!

It would also be nice if we find out how this shit can be ended. Definitely seems a shame for such hard work and knowledge to be lost in the name of good repping.
