New Aquanaut 5167R RG ZF thoughts?

Hey guys i'm almost going to pull the trigger on this watch but my 5167a zf steel has a clasp alignment issue and the one on puretime's video has a alignment issue as well, was wondering if this is common on zf aquanaut clasps and if there is a way to remedy/ get a better clasp

I received mine today. The clasp on the rose gold is much better than on the zf steel one.

I have a general concern over flaking, tarnishing or fading of the RG finish.

It's too early to tell from this batch, but has anyone got experience on rep RG finish in general?

Local shop showed the comparison b/t gen and rep

He claimed that one is gen another is ZF

That date font tho...

The ZF 5167r is such a beautiful piece that I would be willing to take the risk of damages in the plating... I mean you could always fix that

fire007 thanks! I figured it was too good to be true. It’s a beautiful watch, but I’m not sure i wouldn’t enjoy the stainless model as much without the added hassle.

I still love the watch but yes the plating did wear off quite quickly on mine for some reason. I do plan on getting it replated and the rotor silenced. And once I do itll be a favourite in my collection!

I havent replated it yet, but the plating may as well have just fallen off. It was coming off without me even wearing it. I was quoted about 1000usd for to have it done by tony

Sounds bad... maybe I will skip this watch then... Wow! 1.000 usd?! You could buy two new watches for that and still have some money over.

If james bonds omega planet ocean “goes under the cuff” of his tailored/slim Tom ford shirts, I’m sure you won’t have any problems with a Patek Aquanaut...unless you wear painted on Lycra shirts.

My question is regarding the plating wearing off. Not whether it wil fit or not. read the post before commenting.

You wont have any problems with this patek it is 9mm thick..

Thanks, was curious to how much friction (because of the RG deteriorating) your watch gets in the 6 month. Seems to be a hit or miss so might as well take the chance.

it's more the lock that is exposed ... with scratches.

But i would probably go for the 3k factory version when it is released.

Fair point, a lot of movement now in the PP space, 3K, PPF v3... will definitely wait till after Chinese new year before putting in an order.
