It's sold now. It's a nice combi so i understand you. But it's not over for you yet buddy.

These are the specs of the strap as would be for a 5227r:

Material: Alligator, shiny, square scaled
Color: 024 177 (grey, light)
Buckle: No buckle
Width: 19mm (at the case)/16 mm (buckle)
*Length: 6 o'clock: 110mm, 12 o'clock: 70mm
Fit at the lug: Straight
Form of the tip: Ogive
Holes: Round holes
Profile: Round
Thickness: 3.5mm
Finish: Tone-on-tone waxed edges
**Type of stitching: Hand stitched.
Thread color: Ecru
Type of lining: Chamoisine

*Length depends on your wrist size.
**Hand stitched costs 40 euro extra. You can choose "Machine stitched standard thread" alternatively and avoid paying 40 euro for that.

You'll have to e-mail them to request a custom made strap. And payment can be by paypal. And don't mention reps or anything!

It is a nice combo indeed.

The rep plated gold might be lighter in color than solid gold and fade over time, so a pair of straps of lighter color does pair well.

Also in generally the rose gold is better for cold skin tones.

No mate. It’s a yellow gold Vacheron Constantin 34 mm vintage dress watch. It’s on it’s way to me. And I’ll put the same strap on it. Just a round profile instead of the flat I had on the 5296R. Because the 5296 is a flat looking watch it suited better. This one has a shape that is more like the 5227.
I can post some pictures later when it’s paired with the strap.

But here’s a photoshop where I’ve copy pasted it into the strap on the 5296 haha

Yeah. Gold plated is a bit lighter and not so deep in color as solid gold. No doubt about it.

Are you talking about the light grey strap on the 5296R? It has a hint of blue in it yes. But mainly it is light grey.
