Is this case made of new fibratech material, or do we also have carbotech, with a lighter tone, or even lighting conditions, when photographing?

Could well be lighter shade of Carbotech, either way I like this more than the 1118? Could be tempted to grab this one!

Is that dial black? Looks like it has a dark brown/tobacco color to it with the sunburst effect.

The sunburst effect should be, but the dial itself should be black, like on 1118.

In my opinion, it may look different, against the background of a different tone of the case.

It looks dark grey sunburst to me. Similar to VSF 904 ... ?

Based on these pics it looks like it has a similar dial to the 1118.

If any of you have seen the pics I posted on the 1118 I have been posting the dial under different lighting and it has a very grey visual appearance to it much of the time. And this one looks very very similar to that one.

As opposed to the anthricite dial we see on the 904 or 605. In my opinion.

But I found these pics of the vsf 1119. At least they're a little higher quality and don't have the trusty watermark.

Ok it might just be the lighting giving it the brown color on the dial. Looks like the 1118 overall just with an overall grey tone rather than black.

If it's anything like the dial on the 1118 and it looks like it is very similar, then it really probably reflects a lot of colors.

I know I keep talking about this but it blows my mind how many colors it reflects.

Sometimes I want to call it grey, sometimes silver, sometimes it's so bright there's like a complete absence of color - like a really bright white, and sometimes even purple. I wouldn't be surprised if this dial behaves in a similar way and you're seeing some chocolate too.

But... Yeah.

Yeah I do have the 1118 and most of the time it just looks black with an occasional subtle grey sunburst effect in the light. Sometimes I do wish the sunburst effect would "pop" more with any kind of lighting. It feels a little too subtle in my opinion, no clue if that's how the gen is supposed to be.

Here’s a little QC comparison, PAM1119 on the left, PAM1118 on the right

Looks pretty much like the same exact thing except the 1119 is a lighter shade in both the case and dial. It also looks like the sunburst effect is more obvious on the 1119.

Thanks for the informative photo alignment. The dial against the DW background is obviously of different colors. Without this comparison, it would be difficult to accurately mark this.

Does the case material seem to differ not only in color tone, but also in pattern? Or does it seem to me?

That's a good point. On Panerai's new models, what I've seen is the datewheel base material generally seems to have the same qualities as the dial. Especially on the 1661. So when the dial is directed toward the light and the dial looks like a deep dark metallic black, the datewheel is a deep dark metallic black.

When it's reflecting indirect light, the dial looks like a flat, matte dull black and the datewheel has a dull, matte flat black.

Whatever angle the dial has and however it reflects light, the gen datewheel reflects the same way to look like the same material. While vsf is just using a black datewheel. For me, it's been one of the easiest quick spotting tells so far.
