Based on the comparison, it seems like if XF was able to produce a thinner caseback, it would be the undisputed winner. Haven't heard many updates on the PAM 682 lately. Does anybody know how long it might take for a V3 to come out (or if that will even happen)? I would think that this is a popular model, considering the size alone. Hopefully the factories haven't given up just yet.
Best of both worlds is always ideal but take it with a grain of salt... Literally, an average grain of salt is 1mm thick.
On the Nautilus threads they are splitting hairs over .5mm

Unfortunately with these changes, sometimes it's pretty quick, other times it's painfully slow. No telling when the factories will update something.

What salt? Rock salt or iodized? :D

I'm not sure, but it's one of 'em.

Thanks guys. It sounds like you're fairly confident that there will be additional changes for this model in the future, right? Just trying to decide whether or not I should bother waiting to purchase. I'm new and am not familiar with the factories' processes.

Not sure if you read my post correctly. I'm basically saying there is no certainty whether an upgrade will be forthcoming. Sometimes it just appears without any announcements or sometimes it takes years or not at all, which is usually the case (pun intended). Sorry if I wasn't being clear.

Hi friends

can someone point me in the right direction for the case back: shall be engraved the serial number T..../1000 or not? I saw some models got the engravings and some not...

Oh Canada
TigersFan after going through this thread based on your recommendation and looking at both reps and the thickness, I ended up just getting the gen.. for me, with skinny wrists, the thickness is key for me. Thought I'd get a rep to try out my first Panerai, but just didn't want to risk it due to thickness. After a week with the gen, I love it!

I decided to order the XF. Was a tough call but Ryan at InTime seemed to agree it was the right choice.

Gutted, just been told the 682 is out of stock after placing my order last week. If one TD says it’s out of stock, I’m guessing that will apply to other TDs not being able to source one?
