Just picked up a C&R one of these here - overall it’s a nice enough watch with the potential to look the part given a bit of vintagizing.

I already have a lovely Franken example of the small triangle date version I bought from Alhig. If I didn’t have that one I’m sure I’d be pleased as punch with this military dial one... but the case shape of the new/reissued one is miles off, compared to the Vietnam case of the Franken. However, at a fifth of the price, it’s bearable - and will look better once it’s spent 10 minutes in the Tupperware box of rocks and screws...

I have to say both straps that come with this are decent enough.

The nato is pretty nice. It’s just the right texture that compliments the military feel. Not too smooth or refined stitching.

It’s short tho (great for me) so not loads of slack left over after the buckle. My wrists are 6.75 inch, anyone with a normal larger wrist will struggle to get it on though.

Really dig the watch, doubt I’ll Mod it at all now.

The xtal is a nice shape and clear, dial and hand lume has some grain to it, the dial hour plots and text parts are nicely raised.

Bezel has a bit of play but turns nicely.

the date font is wrong but it’s not offensive at all.

My friends really liked it.

For the price it’s a must have in the collection.

I totally forgot I had this in my box. Bought it when these SMP’s were long gone out of stock.

Was running badly but I had a brand new 8215 that’s running great with a high amplitude and I just regulated it to +1 s/d.

for those that received theirs, how is the bezel in person?

The bezel on my big triangle no date (see pics above) is fine. Uni-directional rather than bi-directional, but feels well-attached with no looseness.

My bezel, (as I mentioned above) is one directional has a bit of play but turns nicely and firmly enough.

eBay about two years ago. I haven’t found it sold anywhere else. Out of stock.
