So you'll need,
1. Speedmaster
2. Rafflesdials or rep 20mm rolex president bracelet with hollow endlinks.
3. Scotchbrite. Possibly sandpaper and or dremel.
So many folks including me do not like the modern speedy bracelets.
I love the LOOK of the vintage bracelets. 1170 and 1450 mainly. However, I've owned a gen 1170 and the reality is, they're crap. It probably wont fall apart but certainly feels like it will and to me that's just not worth $400+.
So I took my rafflesdials 20mm president bracelet for a datejust/daydate and modded it to fit my speedy. Now I have the model without the crown guard. It has 19mm lugs, so I had to shave down my end pieces to 19mm. And to be honest I couldve done a better job. There are some gaps but I've seen similar gaps in gen vintage models. Im gonna try to source some 19mm endlinks eventually.
Either way, if you have the MOTM speedy with 20mm lugs, the endpeices will be a DIRECT fit for you, nice and snug, no modding required.
All you have to do is find a generic clasp or live with rolex clasp or see if you can find an omega clasp that will work, I think the omega bracelets taper more though.
Pics of the connections below. A little "rigged" buts it all hidden and gives me no problems.
Lastly, you'll want to use some scotchbrite to brush the polishes center pieces of the president. And voila, you have basically a 1450 ref bracelet thats way sturdier than atleast a gen 1170. Looks pretty good I think.
