Quick Gen vs Rep : PO 45 Ceramic and Noob PO 45 Ceramic

Yesterday evening with had a meeting with friends around some rep. As I knew one of them had the gen Omega PO 45 Ceramic, I asked him to bring it with him to make a quick comparison with my Noob PO 45 Ceramic.

First of all, you won't like it but I didn't make pictures myself. The other guys made some, so I'll post them here as soon as I can get them.

Now speaking about the differences....

Bezel : These are pretty close. For me the brightness is really close, I'm saying this because a lot of us where worried about the Noob being to shiny but it's not, it's like the gen. But there is a but.... there is a difference, the color is slightly different. The gen has a little more brown/dark in it.

Dial : Again pretty close, slightly different color but again really really close. One more noticeable difference is the hole for the date, sharper on the Gen than on the rep, this brings to the feeling that the position is not right, but I think it is. It's just better cut and sharper on the gen so you have the feeling there is more space between the date hole and the index in the gen than in the rep.


Well all that said overall, the Noob version is damn nice good and really close (except the movement of course, but there is nothing to compare there...)

I wonder if gen gives more quality feel?
In particular, things like bezel, crown and clasp action, does the bracelet squeak more (I know you can use baby oil, but still)?

I cannot give an answer for the particular point, but the global feeling is really quality oriented. And the feeling is really gen like !!

Thanks for the pics! It looks like the date window is the most obvious difference. Bezel numbers on the other hand look very similar to gen, that was my fear in the beginning!

Gen is easy to spot, the date font is more bold and the 'seamaster' font stands out more on the gen.
