Hi Watch experts!

I've got a problem with the Seagull ST1901, the chronograph hammer not resetting properly. There seem to be some friction preventing the hammer from slamming home tight.
Here is a video: when pressed the reset pusher the hammer struggles to slam back to zero position, I have to use a tweezer to push it back in place.

I've check the hammer spring, nothing is warped and the tension seems tight. I've even oiled the hammer pivots.
The hammer tension spring, looks to be fine.

The hammer pivot was oiled.
Do any of you experts know what may be to be the problem and where I could look into?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi! It’s difficult to make a distance diagnosis, but it can happen that these chronos are cheap tolerances, so check if the hammer pivot is free to work, otherwise broach a little it’s hole, clean and lube. Wash all chronograph parts, and lubricate all contact points, including contact points between springs and levers. Otherwise replace hammer spring

Thanks for the insights! Looks like I will have to try service the movement.

Not necessary, you only need to repair the hammer work. Then if you want you can service it
