I own CF straps and ZicZac straps. CF is super nice but ZicZac is in my opinion also completely fine.

I think it’s crazy to pay as much for the strap as you pay for the rep itself. If it’s a crazy Franken or if you wear the watch daily then it’s a different story, but for occasional wear I’d stick to ZicZac.

Decided to give my ZicZac leather strap a bit of a polish and shine. I use multiple Saphir shoe products for this. I am very happy with this strap, although it's far from perfect, it gets the job done and does it well under $100.

I rotate the watch in at least twice a month. I've had it for 2 years now. The website has several thin straps for the JLC in 21mm.

Just check if you see one you like or contact ZicZac on the website. He can custom make one for you exactly how you envision it in you mind's eye.

Thanks for sharing !! ????????

You're welcome.

I'm actually going to commission this new Etsy watch strap maker to make a gray one for the JLC moon phase watch.. Says he will charge me $69, curved lugs and ultra thin. Once I get it I'll post pictures.

Hello guys, I just wanted to clarify because I have seen a lot of confusing info regarding the GF V4 movement. Is it a replica of the 925 caliber or just a miyota with decorative plate?
Because I have read both answers here and on other threads

GF dial is slightly better (the hour markers are flush to the curvature of the dial) but that is barely noticeable unless you are looking at the dial under a microscope and know what to look for.

I prefer the ZF solely because it uses a MY9015 which I can service easily if I ever need to.

It is a clone movement on the GF. I have had both gf and zf in hand.

When are you suggesting that GF switched from a miyota mod to a clone movement? ZF and GF have always used a miyota movement while azf and ylf used a clone movement

According to trusty the new GF V4 is still a modified miyota movement.

Here are pics of the Gen caliber 925.

One question about the strap:
I got the ZF (black dial) last month. I am super happy with it, except for this:

Since a few day, the claps keeps detaching from the strap when I handle the watch. (note: its stable, once the watch is in the wrist)

Did anyone of you experience this also? What could I do?

Something similar used to happen to me. I realize that the pin was probably too short, or the piece where it goes on the clasp was too wide. To help remedy this I used to squeeze the piece on the clasp, but that was only a temporary fix. I then realized I needed a new clasp, and I let my TD know of the clasp defect. I'm sure these are pennies and can be given out quite easily if you just ask. They're also probably available on AliExpress cheap. Just get a new clasp.

This is a problem with the design I have been told before. Even the gen can suffer the same problem apparently.

That's shocking. One time it came off my wrist at the office, but luckily I was able to catch it and prevented it from hitting the ground. After that one time I just didn't take a chance and just waited for the replacement clasp to come in. I have two JLC watches with the same clasp, and no longer have any problems with it coming off.
