A lot of times, first time posters will quickly post a thread asking "who has the best whatever watch", or "is this site trusted", or "who is the best dealer".

I think there are two big reasons for this. One of the reasons is that the Newbie is too lazy to do some quick research on this board before posting. Another reason is because a lot of this information that Noobs need to get going is scattered everywhere throughout the board. This can be confusing to a first time poster, and in order to solve this confusion, they just post their thread anyway.

To the noobs, these first time threads mentioned above that are posted by newbies are very much frowned upon by many people here, and usually you will not get anything except a sarcastic remark. I used to be there, I know. This helps no one as you will get no good answers and people will not take you seriously because you didn't do your research.

Ultimately this forum is here to give everyone help, and save people from being ripped off and/or scammed, as well as being a great place for enthusiasts of this wonderful hobby to come together.

With this being said, I am creating this thread to ultimately help the Noobs out. This thread will be a centralized location for all of the threads a Noob will need to get started. These threads will get you educated enough to possibly save the embarrassment of posting that "who has the best sub" thread.

Before posting these kinds of threads, please read through all of the threads listed below. If you do so, you may just be educated enough to make your decision without even having to post that first embarrassing thread.

First up is a Beginners guide written by our very own FakeMaster:
http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/some-tips-buying-your-first-30666
This thread has a lot of excellent information and includes just about everything to get you started in buying your replica watch.

Next up is a list Scam sites that are out there, which was also put together by FakeMaster:
http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/...ealer-list-44299?t=44299&highlight=scam+sites

Up next, which coincides with the list of scam sites, is a link to Trusted Dealers:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/ (toward bottom of the page)

These dealers have gone through extensive trials by the mod/admin team here to become a trusted dealer. These are the only dealers recommended here by the RWI mod/admin team as well as 99% of the members.

If you are wondering about their ratings, here is the thread that has the dealers ratings:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/latest-rwi-dealers-ratings-and-43088

This thread was put together by Rooster and includes all of the Trusted Dealers of RWI.

Next is the link for Fakey's Corner:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/forumdisplay.php/fakeys-corner-145

There is a plethora of information in here and one can learn a lot about a lot in here. There are several tutorials in here, so if you have a "how to" question, this place might be the best place to look.

Another good place to look for "how to" questions would be here:

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/forumdisplay.php/tutorials-50

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/forumdisplay.php/watch-modification-repair-questions-53

There are plenty of other tutorials in here that cover just about everything about replica watches you can think of.

Finally, if none of these threads help you out, give the search function a try:

Like I said before, information on this board is scattered all over the place, but everything replica watch that you can think of is in this board. Try to use the search function and finding your answer before posting your questions, because odds are that your question has already been answered on here before.

Finally, welcome aboard to RWI! This should be enough information to get you on your feet. Everyone here is very friendly and will help you out so long as you do a little research before hand. Give these links above a try, then if you still have a question or are still having problems, feel free to post. If you have done your research first, people here will have no problems with helping you out with your needs.

Mods, I ask that you make this a sticky and lock this, so that this thread will not be lost for the Noobs to find. Ultimately I think this will save the mods/admins time as much as it will the First Timers.

In appreciation for Don Brizzel's work and initiative, he has been awarded a VIP membership on the house. Congratulations!

I think that this is a great idea, and thanks for putting this together. There have actually been a fair number of these first time tutorials written, but even they seem to get missed.

Here are a few other must-reads that I'd add to the mandatory reading list, including "what to expect when you order" and "what to read before I put out that I'm-freaking-out-now-that-I've-actually-pulled-the-trigger! post". I've locked and stickied this for the time being, but it may turn out that the rest of the staff will want some input on what noobs need to see before they order.

Why should I bother with the trusted dealers list?

How do I post that picture of my watch?

http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/posting-picture-using-photobucket-23766
Other important questions:

1) Is it common to place and order and not to get a confirmation email?

Answer: yes, but this does NOT mean that you will not get your watch. Be patient. Most of these guys are fielding hundreds of orders and emails daily. You might get an answer in a few hours, a few days, or not at all but by far, most of the time, you WILL get your watch (this is assuming that you have ordered from one of our dealers).

2) My tracking number says that my watch has been held somewhere. What do I do now?

Answer: nothing. A lot of the time, the tracking number is not up to the minute and it can say that your watch is hung up for days or weeks, and the watch shows up at your front door in the meantime. If it really does get seized in customs, some of the dealers will guarantee re-delivery in this case. Read the dealer's policies to know which is which.

3) My watch is broken/DOA/not the right one/etc.! Now what?

Answer: the order of operations should be this:

A) contact the trusted dealer and make note of whether he prefers to be contacted by email or PM. Let him know what the problem is. Remember what I said about them fielding tons of emails. You may get an answer in a few hours or a few days, so be patient and WAIT. Do not bombard the dealer with emails every few hours if you're not getting a response. And for heaven's sake, be polite and respectful. These dealers are not morally obligated to help you, and there is not an official BBB of rep watch culture (outside of this board), so if you get yourself blacklisted, you have only yourself to blame. Also remember that English is not the first language of most of our dealers, nor for their staff, so don't be surprised or scornful if you get a response that suggests that they did not understand your question. If you think you're so smart, send your emails in their native language. Otherwise, be patient and try again.

B) if you don't get a response or you feel that the response is not satisfactory, contact a mod or admin to intervene on your behalf. They can at least let you know whether you are being reasonable. Before you say "well, I don't want to bother them for THIS", please note that this is highly preferable to posting it in the open forum, inviting all sorts of responses that the staff will eventually have to moderate because you're either getting flamed or you've incited a riot.

C) do not, under any circumstance, start by doing a chargeback or even threatening one. This will not help your cause, and it will also cause problems for everyone else. Moreover, it restricts the ability of the staff to help you, and if you freeze up the seller's accounts, then everyone is at a standstill. You will not get satisfaction and the rest of the board will flame you off the planet.

4) This watch addiction is taking over my life. I've had cash in the kids' education funds and sell my car. My wife is going to leave me if I don't get rid of some of these watches. Can I sell some of them here?

Yes, you can, but please read the sales rules first.

Having said this, go out there and have some fun!
