White dial AP: 15400 vs 15500

I’d like to order a SS AP with the white dial. Trying to decide between the 15400 and the 15500.

Which would you choose? I’m referring to the ZF for both versions.

The 15400 movement is not as good as the 15500.
The 15400 dial appears more accurate.

Is the 15500 white dial a lost cause? The date wheel on the white 15500 looks horrible.

What is the consensus on the white dial 15500? From
what I have read the black is the closest to gen. The grey is pretty close follow by the blue.

I did not see any commentary on the accuracy of the white dial 15500 aside from the horrible date wheel.

Both looks good, movement is same on both, dw is better on 15400, bezel screw finish is better on 15500.

For the colors we will never have gen like but it's close to be... so pick the one you prefer

15500 is the one to get. Personally I wouldn’t go for white as it exaggerates any discrepancy in the DW...........however I am a bit OCD.

I have a blue. Going to get a black too.

Why trying to condition his mind to blueeee lol.

15500 maybe modern n contemporary yet the 15400 looks perfect in layout n it doesn’t boozes negative space in the dial.

I don’t stand corrected as this is my only opinion Hahahaha

I do prefer white. Since I am lacking a SS watch with white dial.

I have the ZF 15500 blue dial in hand (love it).

The ZF 15500 grey dial is arriving Friday.

And just approved the QC for a ZF 15500 white dial. I have added a comparison shot below of a gen pic I found in Chrono24 (left) and my ZF 15500 QC photo on the right. I’ve tried to line everything up exactly the same.

The lighting is clearly bad on my QC photo. The SS bezel, case and bracelet all appear much brighter and closer to gen in real life than it appears in this photo.

I can’t comment on the dial as I don’t have it yet and don’t have a gen. But the datewheel looks pretty good to me (I’m happy enough). Can someone explain the “horrible datewheel” to me please?

This is the JF V5 - for my opinion a really good watch from JF. Also- only +1 second per Day.

The datewheel has some numbers that look bigger than the others (particularly 21 or 22 if I recall?). In addition it seems to be quite often very slightly misaligned, a little too high and to the left but I suspect it's hard to see at arm's length
