Moving the movement and dial of Quartz AP 15202 to the case of JF AP 15202

Hi. Everyone

I moved the movement and dial of Quartz 15202 to JF 15202, and made the case thinner.
(Case: JF 15202, Movement and Dial: 15202 Quartz)
Although it is miscellaneous, I would like to introduce you here,
and I would be glad if it would be helpful for everyone.

I'm not good at English, so I think there are places that are not appropriate expressions,
but please forgive me.


The movement of JF 15202 is MIYOTA 9015.
The movement of Quartz 15202 is the HATTORI VJ52B Quartz Movement.


1-1 Remove the stem of JF 15202
1-2 Remove the JF 15202's movement spacer, movement and dial set from the case
1-3 Remove the crown from the JF 15202 stem
(Because it is attached like a screw, loosen and remove)

2-1 Take the stem from quartz 15202
2-2 Take out the set of movement spacer, movement, dial of quartz 15202 from the case
2-3 Remove the crown from the quartz 15202 stem
(Because it is attached like a screw, loosen and remove)

3 Attach the crown of JF15202 to the stem of Quartz 15202
(Do not overtighten as it will be removed again later when adjusting the stem length.)

4 Put the movement and dial of Quartz 15202 into the case of JF 15202

5 Attach the quartz 15202 stem (and the JF 15202 crown) to the quartz 15202 movement

6 Put the movement spacer of Quartz 15202 into the case of JF15202.
Because the JF15202 case is smaller than the Quartz 15202 case,
The movement spacer of quartz 15202 can not be completely inserted in the case of JF15202.
Therefore, cut the movement spacer of quartz 15202 to the appropriate length.

7 Adjust the stem length
For adjustment method, search keyword

The idea crossed my mind, but the combined cost of a JF 15202 and a DC 15202 to create one watch would be cost prohibitive, for me anyway. It is worth looking for other alternatives though.

as I told you, you did a fantastic job indeed. The only thing that makes me go soft is the clear caseback showing the battery of the hattori movement..

I would have used the closed caseback of the quartz if possible somehow

Certainly the clear caseback showing the battery of the hattori movement does not look good.
This time I made the clear caseback because it takes time to make the closed caseback for JF 15202.
I think that I can make this watch thinner if I make the closed caseback for JF 15202,
so I will do my best for production in the future.

Great idea but the dial of the quartz its just not good (i own the quartz myself and the DW is ugly as hell) but the original JF dial also has problems its a great looking watch but JF should really do a better job on the dial.

I don’t know why the printed text is leagues behind already retired 15400 models. Yes, the print is directly on dial, but still, it’s almost blotchy in QC photos. You would think the premium advertising of the JF 15202 would net a solid stamping. When in reality, it’s horrid in some batches.

The vibrant Blue looks really good in this mod. I couldn’t do the quartz movement though, only the dial with improvements. Sourcing a dial for a 15202 that isn’t white is nigh impossible.

Atleast they fixxed the printing in the new 15400 RG version but i think its just the first batch and then the printer will be printing shit again.

I own it myself and will definitely buy the v2 since its my favorite watch of all time but the factory have to make an effort on : thickness , date font , printing ... Im wondering if they put volunteer flaws on the first version to make us buy the second version... ( of course they do ) if the 15202 where more popular they would already be at the V9.4 im sure that if people would have the chance to try the 15202 and the 15400 most of the ppl would choose the 15202 .. much more proportional to the wrist and classy sometimes less is more( personal opinion only ) . If you can post more shot that would be nice ! here's mine ( Unmodded )

The standard 15202 seems to have changed the specifications compared with the initial release.
Other than that, there seems to be a platinum version (250 limited).

Before specification change：15202ST.OO.1240ST.01
After specification change： 15202ST.OO.1240ST.01.A
Platinum：15202IP.OO.1240IP.01

I do not understand all the contents of the specification change,
but The main thing is the number of petit tapestry. Shape of logo mark,
It seems that there is depth ... of the ditch.
Before and after the specification change, I was not able to check if I was changing the color of the dial blue.
The color of the dial of Platinum version seems to be different from the usual 15202.
I do not know which of the above specifications JF15202 and Quartz version 15202 aim for.
In any case, I would like to see the printing of the dial improved in the next version.
I hope that the version comes out soon.

JF is the standard version, quartz did use the polished platinum version as source for the dial (and did a great job)

I want JF 15202 to upgrade the dial in particular, and I want DC 15202 to upgrade the bracelet and possibly the dial.
