GEN vs REP REVIEW - AP ROO BUMBLE BEE

Hey guys,

I've had the luxury of comparing a gen AP ROO Bumble Bee and my own modded J12 Bumble Bee today and decided to take some pictures to share and give my 2 cents:

First off - The Rep has the following mods:
- Slimmed hour hand pinion
- Shaved and repainted Tachymeter
- Modded cyclops for that deeper date window look

On to some pics:

The Gen (date 18th)

The Rep (date 19th)

Thoughts:
Weight wise the gen is definitely slightly heavier than the rep, but the most obvious would be the rings around the subdials, with the gen being grey and the rep more black and turning grey under light at an angle!

Nonetheless I'm pretty amazed with my modded rep (position talking - lol), being extremely close to the gen, even the owner couldn't tel the difference at all and was starting to feel nervous about mixing up the watches!

I think it's as close as possible, very hard to compare because every carbon case grain differs but it's slightly clearer on the gen if that makes any sense

My steps were pretty simple:

Step 1 - contact my modder
Step 2 - send piece to modder
Step 3 - wait
Step 4 - wait some more
Step 5 - receive completed piece and wear!

I was going to try the shaving thing myself if it was easy enough. I think he would shave from the outer edge closest to the bezel. Would like to know his trick.

They kinda do... Yes gen does. I was worried about this too before purchasing but honestly you forget about it because FC rocks! :biggrin-new:

Actually the thickness didn't really stand out as much as I expected, I guess because the material is so light the thickness didn't show through on the rep.

Feels exactly the same as gen in my hands.

AP BB is definitely one of the fav for any AP fan. Would be great if there is a post for compare gen and rep for AP diver FC haha

Awesome review. Goes to show how accurate these are and that gen owners rarely can spot a rep.
