My recently acquired (Tony, great service again) Noob Sub C v3 is fantastic in every way except for the coupling of the tube and crown. The date is often altered when trying to lock the crown down.

Are there any upgrade alternatives to going gen on the crown and tube which are likely to be better quality than the noob parts? And what part numbers do I want if going gen?

For gen crown get a 704 but I have no idea about the tube part number.the noob v3 tube is gen spec and takes a gen crown without modding

I'd wonder if there's an issue with the movement. The calendar set function is the second position. It should snap into first position (winding) before screwing down the crown. Perhaps the tube just needs to be seated a little further into the movement?? I'm sure one of the more tech savvy members will chime in.

It sounds like the stem is a touch long. You could get a pin vice to remove and grind it a hair shorter.

704 crowns use 703-0 tubes
