I just bought a PAM 111 with a Unitas 6497 17 Movement. How often and how much do I wind it? Thanks for the help!

The most important thing is to feel the resistance of the spring, if the crown in getting a little harder to turn, you need to stop immediately.
Some guys said 15 full turns of the crown is ok for the day..

Power reserve should be at least two days, if you have an A6497, it will likely be 50-55 hrs+. Wind it until it stops - trust me, you'll know when.

You can wind the 6497 basically until it stops.....40 turns.....you will feel the resistance. It's a pretty sturdy movement. Fully wound you should get about 36-40 hours of reserve.

Fiddo, there's something wrong with your movements if you're only getting 36-40 hours of reserve...

That's what she said! :biglaugh:

Yeah, probably an estimate on the low side. After thinking about it, I don't wind them until they stop either......I know you can......I usually stop before that.

60 hours on a T4D 111h for me. It took about 90 mini turns or around 40 full stretched thumb-pointer finger twirls.

If you are looking at the crown, the winding is clockwise. If you are looking at the watch dial, you are winding "up"

Oh, and btw, pull the crown lever out first before winding :)

With the dial facing you, you wind the crown "up", towards 12 o'clock.
