No I wouldn't.
Because it's not worth anything except how close you yourself hold it to your heart.
If it's ya dad's or grandpa's watch and you like it and know it's a rep and keep it. Cool.
But deliberately giving it to my kids? No, don't think so.

I think a rep can be a heirloom providing the receiver knows it's a rep.

Now if modding rep watches was something you did with your child, or something you shared in common, then yes I could see that but most of us don't want many people knowing we ever owned a rep.
