Looking to pull the trigger tonight and have read the Santos 100 is a good rep mode to pick. I see the Santos 100 XXL SS/LE White Asian Eta 2892-2 $288 and Santos 100 Mid SS/LE White Swiss Eta 2671 Ult Ver $398.

I would prefer the XXL, but not sure if the mid size is the more accurate (gen like) model. Appreciate the input so I pull the rigger and add this to my collection.

I would strongly suggest doing a lot of research before buying a santos 100. There are some super rep caliber watches and a lot of crap. I would stay from the santos XXL it's a flawed rep on several levels. The dial s way off the mark with a arge gap between the X and IX marks and the clone 2892 is a notoriously crappy movement. My recommendation is to go with an ultimate edition 38.5mm automatic or, if you like a chrono version , go for the ultimate chrono with clone 7753. Both of the watches are well made and beautifully replicated. They are a bit more expensive ($350-410 range) but you get what you pay for.

Get the $400 ultimate one of which 10 and 11 touch each other on dial. Best version out there.

Then do urself a favor and buy the gen croc/gator strap. This combo is really close.

Hi guys, I am also thinking to buy a Santos XL but, having read lots of good things about the above model, I see a mixed opinion about it.

I have done some research and I am not able to understand if it is the chrono the one with flaws or not and if the "ultimate" non-chrono version is the best one out there.
Not really looking into the 39mm model as I like big watches.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The 38.5mm version actually wears a lot bigger than the size suggests as it's a square watch.. and square watches in general wear bigger... It's almost like a 42-43mm watch when on the wrist.. the ultimate non-chrono version is extremely good... most TDs should be able to source one for you... Will be slightly pricy though but worth every penny..

I read the XL wears like a 45mm pam radiomir so not that big, but still unsure about it.
The goid thing is that you confirm the ultimate version is not that bad in terms of flaws.

I have the watch and love it, but this is a BIG CHUNKY watch. I have 8.5" wrists and this is the watch on me:
