To all of you Panerai afficianados - Besides a Gen, what is the best looking Panerai that you can purchase as a REP? I know it is personal preference but I would like to hear what you all think before I purchase. Thanks!

I have the Davidsen PVD 195 and I love. After owning a re PAM for a while this would not be my first chioce. I think the 111h or 177 Ti or the Fiddy best represents what Panerai is all about. Just my .02

Hmmm, in my book there are a couple.
PAM 196 w/ Swiss 7753 (Same movement as gen)
PAM 063 w/ Swiss 2893-2 (Same movement as gen)
PAM 005 from Davidsen (Same movement as gen)
PAM 195 from Davidsen (Same movement as gen)
With each of these you get pretty close to the same material and movement as the gen watches. Each have their little flaws and the lum has to be redone on each, but they are all very accurate.
With just a few modifications almost any of the Luminor or Luminor Marina models can be on the wrist perfect though.

I have a 111h plus a 127.... just wating for the 177h to be delivered any moment.
For me my favourite
is the Pam92 Arktos, Pam199 Regatta is a close second and my reliable 177H as 2nd runner-up.
The case of the Arktos plus its rounded case back makes the watch look and feel so much more beefy compared to other pams. I have SERIOUS problem taking off this watch ever since the day i had it. Used to have the Pam24 but felt that 199 has a more unique and interesting dial hence the switch!
As for my 177H, its light as its Ti and easier to wear under the cuffs and not so prone to scratches compared to polished cases like my Pam104. Pam104 is nice and heavy but the date cyclops sucks. The nice thing is the gold hands that it sports!
Had 1950, 217 and others before but realised that they arent getting any wrist time at all. But the 217 is the one i may consider getting again as now the recessed center pin issue can be solved! THANK GOD FOR Davidsen!!
Now my eyes are set on a PVD model(or 2???) from Mr. Davidsen and the 187. But as i only buy watches and not someone who knows how to modify, i guess i'll have to wait for a 'perfect' rep to come along with all the important specs!!!

I'd say 111 and 183 are the two definitive styles of what's available from Panerai themselves, unless you're looking at contemporary.
As such, I'd say they're the sort I'd get replicas of ... oh, I did. :lol:

the 111h is obvouisly great, but the 183 is awsome aswell.
The 1950 I think is as close to perfect as your going to find, a few dealers carry them and they are awsome.

did I say I love my 1950? I do! I held a gen one in my hand for almsot 20 minutes yesterday - next to my rep - I could not find so much as a flaw on the face or clasp (there are some minor differences in the movmeent )
